ONE EVENING, AN ELDERLY CHEROKEE CHIEF TOLD HIS GRANDSON ABOUT A BATTLE THAT GOES ON INSIDE PEOPLE.
HE SAID “MY SON, THE BATTLE IS BETWEEN TWO ‘WOLVES’ INSIDE US ALL. ONE THINKS EVIL, JEALOUSY, SORROW, REGRET, GREED, DESPAIR, INFERIORITY, LIES AND HATE?
THE OTHER THINKS – GOOD, JOYFUL, LOVING, HOPE, SERENITY, KINDNESS, GENEROSITY, COMPASSION AND FAITH.
THE GRANDSON THOUGH ABOUT IT FOR A MINUTE AND THEN ASKED
“WHICH WOLF WINS?”THE OLD CHEROKEE SIMPLY REPLIED, “THE ONE THAT YOU FEED”
In Napoleon Hill’s famous book – Think and Grow Rich – he demonstrates that in life we attract to us and create our life by.…what we think.
There are two levels of thinking – Conscious and Unconscious thinking. It’s the unconscious thinking that can really hurt you.
For example – a young and intelligent girl was always scolded and told by her father when she was growing up that she would never amount to anything in life. Drilled into her mind everyday that thinking soon became her subconscious belief through out her life.
And, so through out her life she attracted people and events that confirmed her false, but believed unworthiness – and repelled events and people who saw her as good, smart and worthy. Sadly because of her thoughts, she never amounted to anything in life. Life follows thought.
Now to my point.
What are your thoughts about this world and about people?
1. That this world and people are basically – GOOD, JOYFUL, LOVING, HOPEFUL, FAIR, KIND, GENEROUS, COMPASSIONATE AND OF FAITH.
2. Or do you believe that people and this world is basically – EVIL, HOPELESS, FULL OF SORROW, REGRET, GREED, DESPAIR, INFERIORITY, LIES AND HATE.
If you see hope and goodness that is your subconscious minds thinking and belief and the lens you view each day through.
If you see but despair and evil then that is the subconscious prism of thought you view life through.
We have learned that we attract and create our life based on what we think, consciously and subconsciously. What do you think consciously or unconsciously?
Number one or number two? Which one is the prism you view people and life through? Which of the two wolves do you feed each day?
I am a writer and like most writers I believe a writers’ calling is to bring hope and optimism to a world that sometimes gets lost and has to be reminded of the beauty and love all around us.
Hope is my prism. What is your prism? Do you look out each day and see an ugly world of despair? Or do you peer through your prism of thought and see a beautiful world of beauty and of endless hope?
It has been written: “As we thinketh…so we become”
Let us know what world you see?
